High Court
Deals with the most serious crimes such as murder, rape, culpable homicide, armed robbery, drug trafficking and serious sexual offences, particularly those involving children. Cases are presided over by a single judge and tried by a jury of fifteen men and women.
Home Detention Curfew (HDC)
An early release option for short-term prisoners (serving less than four years) to return to the community under curfew conditions by being electronically tagged and monitored until the end of their sentence.

Her Majesty’s Prison Young Offenders Institute. A prison for young people between the ages of 15 (16 for girls) and 21. Young offenders have to be kept separately from adults, and juveniles (under 18s) separate from 18-21s.
